At A Stand Still...
Here is my last update on our current adoption for the next few months, because there will be nothing to share. No homestudy sent to Korea, no referrals, and no babies coming home until 2012. Well, there will be referrals in the fall and our home study may get sent then or it may go in 2012. The past three weeks have been emotional, and at this point I am just pretty numb. My stock answer is "it is going to take longer than we expected" and she may be older (this is not something Jim and I truly care about, we are open to children that are not "babies". Jim and I talked and decided to stick with the program and see what the fall/new year will bring.
There is an explanation, but it has to do with Korea and the long process to end international adoptions. Basically, it will continue to decrease the number of babies that leave the country each year. That being said Korea still has the reputation of being one the most stable, predictable, and ethical countries from which to adopt.
For my sanity, I am not looking at girl clothes, decorating her room or even letting myself dwell on it. For those thinking, oh but she has a child...that does not mean I want this child any less...in fact I believe that I want her MORE, because I know how wonderful being a parent and adoption has been.
I am tired of living my life on paper and wishing away the next few months so I can see what they hold. I know, just enjoy my son...trust me I enjoy him every day and cannot wait for him to experience a sibling.
Yes, I am keeping busy. I have picked up a maternity leave at work (trust me we still need to save for the adoption, that part is not on hold). We have plenty of home projects however Jim has been working 75-80 hours a week (from home, trust me he is thrilled to go out and mow the grass!), we have great friends for playdates/Mom's night out, MOPS bible study etc., I signed up for fall 13.1, I could live at the YMCA...so I'm busy but it still doesn't change where we are at.
